Her Story

How has COVID-19 changed your life?

This pandemic has given me a greater sense of self. I quickly came to realize how mundane activities were simply distractions in my life and without them I was forced to self -reflect. When the busyness of the world came to a halt: I had me, my family and a few close friends and a new found purpose to keep us safe and grounded during a time of uncertainty and angst. I now have better discernment, focus and direction to step into my purpose knowing that I cannot control the chaos around me, but I can silence the chaos within me.
During the second week of quarantine I pried off the few remaining nails from the acrylic set I had gotten three weeks prior and safely invited a few quarantine buddies to assist. My garden has become a small community space to learn and share during this time of uncertainty.

What has your City/County done well?

I do not watch enough local news or have enough involvement in Broken Arrow politics to offer an opinion.

What can your City/County do better?

The City of Broken Arrow were reluctant to close non-essential businesses.
