Their Story

How has COVID-19 changed your life?

We’ve been working from home for two months and we’ve found some unexpected growth amidst the chaos around us. Spending so much time so close with each other has made us take a closer look at the things most important to us, and we’ve been able to open up more to things left unspoken before now. It’s actually been really hard, but also healing. Also rewarding. We’ve gone on more walks together. Eaten more meals together. Consulted each other more and listened better. We’ve taken the time to be kinder and more intentional. We’re more “us” than we were before.

What has your City/County done well?

The people of Tulsa have been supportive of local business more, have shown diversity and perseverance, creativity, and strength. I’m proud of our city.

What can your City/County do better?

I would like to see more testing available to the public for COVID-19, but I also realize the state and federal officials have been under immense amounts of pressure while learning how to operate in this scenario, and that has an impact to how the city responds. We’re all in this together.
